What is Release Coatings and Agents?

Release Coatings and Agents is a layer of non-migrating low surface energy coated on the surface of various substrates (such as glassine paper, textured paper, PET film, OPP film, PE film and sanitary backing materials, etc. The coating gives non-stick properties to the surface of the substrate to prevent the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer from being contaminated or sticking to other items and becoming ineffective.

The Composition of Silicone release coatings and agents

Curing is a process in which the main polymer and cross-linking agent are cross-linked to form a film under the catalysis of a catalyst.

Performance testing Item:

2) Test of release force: reflects the release effect, low speed release force 300mm/min and high speed release force 10-300m/min
Standard tape: TESA 7475
Retention time: standard press bar 20 hours at 25℃
3) Residual adhesion rate (SAS): reflects the impact on adhesive properties

Standard sample: PET (or steel plate) + Nitto 31B (or TESA 7475)

Retention time: standard layering at 70°C for 20 hours
4) Dyeing test: coverage (missing coating)
Put the test dye in contact with the silicone-coated surface of the silicone-coated paper in the dyeing tester, and judge the uniformity and coating amount of the silicone coating by observing the dyeing degree of the fibers of the base paper (not applicable to PEK and membranes).
5) Extinction test: reflects the curing condition

Solution to dye streaks

Solution to dye streaks:
1. Set the gap between each roller reasonably;
2. Increase the amount of silicon coating;
3. Increase the drying temperature of oven 1#~5# appropriately;
4. Keep each roller clean and free from solidified silicone oil;
5. Replace the second metering roller or the feeding roller.

1. Strengthen the treatment of impurities in the substrate or replace the substrate without impurities;
2. Keep all parts of the silicone oil coating head and the surrounding environment hygienic and clean;

4. Replace the feeding roller sleeve.
